In October 2003 Padoma submitted a bid in response to an RFP by SPS. In October 2004, Padoma learned that it had been chosen to negotiate a power purchase agreement for 120 MW of power. Within a year, Padoma obtained turbines, received construction loan funding, and constructed the $150-plus million project. The San Juan Mesa Wind Project achieved commercial operation in late December 2005, and final completion in March 2006. (For details see September 2005 press release.)
