Jan C. Paulin, President and CEO

Jan C Paulin is a co-founder and principal of Padoma Wind Power, LLC, a wind energy consulting and development company established in July 2001. Mr. Paulin serves as Padoma's President and Chief Executive Officer.

Prior to the establishment of Padoma, Jan C. Paulin served as President and Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors of SeaWest WindPower, Inc. Based on his eighteen years of experience in the financing and legal structuring of commercial utility-scale wind plants, Mr. Paulin manages Padoma's (and before that SeaWest's) global development efforts and provides the overall strategic direction of the company. Since its formation, Padoma has successfully completed and financed five projects totaling approximately 400 MW, a track record which brings Padoma to the forefront of the industry. Prior to that, during Mr. Paulin's tenure as President and CEO, SeaWest WindPower, Inc. was transformed from a relatively minor player in the wind industry to one of its best known and most successful organizations with a backlog of real development opportunities exceeding 1,500 MW. During his tenure as Chief Executive in both companies, he has successfully established solid, track-record based, relationships with significant equity participants, power purchasers, financiers and equipment vendors through the successful development of thirteen projects totaling approximately 600 MW.

Having worked extensively with both projects and parties based in Europe, Asia and Latin America, Mr. Paulin brings a truly unique international perspective to the wind energy development business.

Prior to assuming his responsibilities as President and CEO, Mr. Paulin was Executive Vice President of Project Finance and Legal and, before that, Senior Vice President and General Counsel for SeaWest. His responsibilities included managing project financing, legal structuring and documentation, and negotiations with partners, financial institutions and equity investors and the closing of debt and equity for numerous additional projects in the United States, the United Kingdom and in Spain.

Before joining SeaWest, Mr. Paulin worked for five years as First Vice President & General Counsel of an international bank in New York, specializing in corporate lending and project financing, including significant lending and restructuring of existing loans to the California wind industry.

Previously, he was with a Danish law firm for ten years, first as an associate and then as a partner. His practice focused on international commercial law, negotiations and determination of legal strategies. Among many clients, Mr. Paulin represented a Danish wind turbine manufacturer, in which capacity he participated in the legal structuring of first generation wind projects in California.

Mr. Paulin received a Master of Laws in International Comparative Law from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas in 1983 and completed additional studies in U.S. and International Law at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He obtained a Juris Doctor degree from Aarhus University, School of Law, in Denmark in 1976.
