The company was formed on July 11, 2001, by Jan Paulin, Gary Dodak, and Jeff Marks after they departed from the long-term management of SeaWest WindPower, Inc., where Jan Paulin served as the President & CEO, Gary Dodak served as the COO and Jeff Marks served as the Executive Vice President in charge of Development and Project Financing in which capacities they had built one of the most capable organizations in the wind energy industry.
Upon forming Padoma, the founding partners went to great lengths to avoid any activity which could be perceived as misappropriation of corporate opportunities developed during their tenure at SeaWest. Accordingly, Padoma started out offering services to existing developers, which would permit such developers to successfully complete the development, financing and sale of their projects. The second phase of the Company's development included the creation of development joint ventures on the East Coast and in the Midwest. Green field development activities were then added in the West.
